Becoming who you are is a journey, and all journeys start somewhere.

In a collection of stories from across the spectrum of real-life experience, nine members of the trans community share their inspirational childhood stories. Lilah Sturges is the author of many comic books. She lives in Austin, Texas with two daughters and two cats. CYNTHIA YUAN CHENG is an illustrator and cartoonist who creates funny, bittersweet stories centered on connection, identity, and belonging. When not at a desk, you can find Cynthia laughing at manga or eating a good meal with friends. Cynthia lives in New Jersey. Ravi Teixeira is a Cape Verdean American transgender cartoonist. They enjoy telling stories about gay cowboys and gothic romance, and their work has been in such anthologies as Dates 3 (Margins) and Becoming Who We Are (A Wave Blue World). Their work sensitiv reading has been acclaimed, and they've also been featured on right-wing websites as a real terror. They live in Canada with their boyfriend, a dog named Sahara, and a cat named Charlie. Hazel Newlevant is a Portland-raised, Queens-residing cartoonist. Their comics include If This Be Sin, Tender-Hearted, Sugar Town, and No Ivy League. They edited and published the anthologies Chainmail Bikini and Comics For Choice. They co-edited the anthology Puerto Rico Strong, published by Lion Forge Comics, which received an Eisner Award. Their comics have been honored with the Ignatz Award, Xeric Grant and the Prism Comics Queer Press Grant. They have worked as an Associate Editor at Lion Forge Comics, and are currently the social media manager of A Wave Blue World. They like to dance.
