Margarita del Mazo es una escritora y narradora oral que goza de gran prestigio en España, con casi una veintena de libros, muchos traducidos a otros idiomas. Entre ellos destacan los best-seller Camuñas y El rebaño, premiado por el Gremio de Libreros de Madrid al mejor álbum ilustrado y por la Fundación Cuatrogatos de Miami.

José Fragoso es autor e ilustrador de libros infantiles. Tras casi diez años trabajando en Estados Unidos, acaba de regresar a su Madrid natal. En EEUU ha sido profesor de ilustración en los Institutos Cervantes de Nueva York y Chicago y el United Nations International School entre otros, así como el ilustrador de la productora Picture Farm Production en Brooklyn, NY. Ha publicado en España, México y EEUU. Su trabajo ha aparecido en publicaciones como 3x3 Magazine o Creative Quarterly y es miembro de la Society of Illustrators de EEUU y de la Society of Children´s Books Writers and Illustrators.

This tale is told with verve and humor, and shows a happy kingdom with loving parents and a racially diverse populace. The playful caricature-like illustrations reminded me of the French illustrator Sempé, and sure enough, Sempé is listed on the author's website as one of his influences. Ink with watercolors on a spare background keep the eye focused on the princess's antics. From playing music on pots and pans, to tying a witch's hair to the tail of a cat, there are lots of details that will make parents and kids giggle, and hopefully they will recognize that a kid just has to be a kid, princess or not!--- Youth Services Book Review


31 Days 31 Lists. Bilingual Children's Books. There's something I just find so enticing about unapologetically crazed characters. Princess Jill isn't one for sitting still (something that more than one child and more than one adult will relate to). She's not a bad kid, she just has an excess of energy. Swinging on chandeliers is the norm here, not the exception.
