Madeleine L'Engle (1918–2007) was the Newbery Medal author of more than sixty books, including the beloved A Wrinkle in Time. Born in 1918, L'Engle grew up in New York City, Switzerland, South Carolina, and Massachusetts.

Michelle Jing Chan is a queer Chinese American illustrator who grew up in Colorado and lives in the Pacific Northwest. A self-taught illustrator, she aspires to capture the magic in everyday moments and create inclusive worlds where underrepresented populations can see themselves reflected. When she’s not drawing, you can find Chan perfecting her egg tart recipe, playing piano and flute, reading a new book, or binge-watching spooky TV shows.
